Decorating for Christmas

Over Thanksgiving I was able to make this wreath with my Mom and Grandma. We had so much fun and it looks good on our front door.

And here's the tree who made it all the way from Salmon, Idaho to be with us with it's own Cade barrier.

Cade wanted to help decorate. These are his contributions.

And last weekend he decided it was time to walk. It makes him seem so much more like a little person now. He'll have time to perfect it over Christmas break. We leave today for Idaho and I can't wait to celebrate Clay's birthday, Cade's birthday and Christmas and be broke by New Years!

Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving Post

First things first: BYU won! We played terrible but at least we beat Utah 26 to 23.

The weekend before Thanksgiving we went to Clay's cousins wedding and the whole family surprised Grandma Morgan for her 80th birthday. Cade's gift was a night of entertainment.

Next we spent time with my family. Cade loved knocking over towers Uncle Michael built for him. Clay was able to shadow a physical therapist and really enjoyed it.

Next was Thanksgiving dinner with Clay's family with the tradition of a game of bowling that night. Clay's crippled father beat everyone but I at least beat Clay!

Cade discovered White Fudge Flips and fell in love.

And Cade got a haircut after Dad styled it. It has been snowing the past few days and it finally feels like Christmas. Check back soon for decorating for Christmas with Cade.

Happy Halloween

Clay's Pumpkin. Hopefully it will inspire the football team to play well this weekend.

Cade as a ghost. Those are supposed to be his cheeks.

We made a few visits to friends and family.

Hope you had a Happy Halloween!

The Budget

Confession: Throughout our marriage of two and a half years we have half-heartedly followed a budget. Starting today for this month of November 2009 we are going to follow our budget and keep better track of where all our money goes. Do you have any tips? Please leave us a comment, silly or serious, to help us out. Halloween pictures will soon follow. Thanks!

Favorite Things

Filters. Just like contact lenses they are something you use for at least three times longer than the package says you can. Clay and I bought a cheap vacuum at Wal-Mart with our wedding money and we haven't changed the filter since. I would just take it out and clean it as best as I could. I just put in a new filter today and it was the best vacuuming in years. And recently the vacuum became Cade's best friend. He follows it all over the house.

Bath time. Cade loves his bath time especially since he figured out how to splash.

Heating. I think our furnace is a girl because it is very indecisive and emotional and will only turn on when it wants to. It's always exciting when it comes on.

Old Friends and a New Park

It's so funny how you revert back to who you were when you get together with family and old friends. We got to visit Clay's highschool friend Travis for his birthday. Thanks so much for inviting us Nicole. We had so much fun. It was so good to see everyone. And I got a lovely glimpse at what Clay was like in highschool. I'm glad they all made it through alive.

Yesterday my friend Heather and her cute kids came to visit from Indiana. We've been friends since fifth grade and hardly get to see her so it was a treat. We went to the new park they built about four blocks from our house. Thanks so much Heather for taking the time to see us.

Cade loved the swing. Notice the drool.

Yesterday was also Clay's parent's anniversary. We are so blessed to have them and their example. Thank you MartaMom and JerryDad for all you do for us.

Thanks for checking up on us!

Conference Weekend

Clay and I started a tradition of having a picnic up the Provo Canyon in between Conference sessions on Saturday. This is us three years ago. This was just a one time tradition. I guess we can try again in six months.

It's also been three years since Florence got a new nose job. If that stupid truck didn't have a hitch we would have been fine. Yay! Now insurance rates will go down.
We went home to Blackfoot this weekend and helped mom and dad put in a sprinkler system. Finally. We had fun seeing family and eating way too much. And Cade only fell down the stairs once.

Cade's new favorite thing is to go visit the duck pond that's only a few blocks from our house. I love that little guy.

Cade is starting to chunk up. He even has a roll on his big toe.

He's grown up so fast. We had to move his crib lower and Cade wanted to help.

Life's moving right along and we're enjoying the ride with all of it's bumps, turns and beautiful moments. Hope you enjoy the little things in life!

Our Little Escape Artist

It's official. Cade is mobile. I have mixed feelings about it.

So the first thing he does is he tries to escape.

Now my life consists of chasing after Cade. Clay is going to school and building cabinets. As always, life is an adventure but we're having fun along the way!

Salt Lake Day Trip

We woke up Saturday morning and decided to get out of the house and head up to Salt Lake. We just did a little shopping and enjoyed the beauty of Temple Square.

Things are good here. Clay starts school on Monday and is quite excited to pick out his first day of school outfit. We are still waiting to see if BioMedics will open back up. Meanwhile, Clay has been building cabinets for a family friend and has been loving it. Thanks Don and Penny for your generosity. I am grateful for all of the amazing people I am surrounded by. I love meeting people and feeling like a better person because you met them. I hope to be like that some day.

I love my boys.

Happy Fourth!

I hope everyone had a great fourth of July. We had an action-packed weekend in Idaho. We got to spend the first half of the week with Clay's family.

We did some extreme four-wheeling with Clay's parents and Uncle Kent, Aunt Gina, Eric and Travis. Yes, the trail is the creek.
Thanks Mom and Dad for a fun time.
For the next half we went to Idaho Falls and enjoyed the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration. Thanks mom for watching Cade. I don't think he would have like the booms too much.

Then we enjoyed fun and amusement at Lagoon. Cade went on his first train ride.

Thanks and have a great day!
